It’s a good thing the Pope didn’t visit Florida. He would have been arrested for associating with, and then feeding the poor, which has been outlawed. To top it off, he has even been talking about Climate Change, which is forbidden in this state and has been outlawed. Buddha birth place earth race human politics freedom religion love. Here in Florida, this type of outrageous behavior will be met with life imprisonment, the death penalty, or even worse. The Pope did such a wonderful job today in his speech of exposing the evil, divisive, oppressive, and warmongering agenda that today’s conservatives support and promote. A right-wing so fundamentally corrupt that it condemns the poor and helpless and glorifies the filthy rich (at the expense of the poor and helpless). To dismiss leftists as hateful and vile people? What a hateful, vile, not to mention incorrect, statement that is. Please check the mirror, as you are too eager to slam the political-left without a critical, objective analysis of what makes it a viable, even compassionate, political philosophy with great merit (not perfect, but then again there isn’t a perfect, political philosophy out there.)
nstead of getting side-tracked about Castro, can we go back to what the pope addressed to the American people without reducing his comments into partisan politics? If we analyze it objectively (at face value), to argue against what he envisions would be to align oneself with a very cruel and cynical vision of humanity, whereby capitalism “should” be primarily concerned with making money, serving the rich and powerful, all the while blaming the weak and poor for their plight and left to suffer in a society that doesn’t address human suffering.
