Bumblebees definitely have stingers lol and worse than honey bees. Honeybee stingers have barbs and come off, bumblebees don’t have the barbs so they can sting you over and over. Hose Bee Lion. There’s a difference between bumblebees, honeybees, and wasps. Bumblebees usually have nests close to the ground. They collect pollen but don’t produce honey.

Honeybee stingers have barbs which rip out of their body after they sting so they will slowly die afterward. Bumblebees have no barbs and don’t inject much venom but they aren’t as aggressive as honeybees. I found a huge bumble bee in my living room rug last weekend placed my hand flat on the floor and that guy just climbed on. I took it into my garden and put it on the flowers, never did I stop to worry that it would sting me as I wasn’t threatening it so it didn’t need to. Bee’s and wasps may only sting when they feel threatened but they obviously feel threatened at nothing at times lol. Hose Bee Lion. You can just be sitting around outside, not bothering anything and not even worried about a bee and get stung. which I raised, if a storm is coming, (even if we humans can’t tell one is on the way) and you are in their “flight path” on the way back to their hive, they will try to fly right through you, so in a lot of cases you get stung. Basically, you’re in their way and they have a deadline, darn it!
Be cool with us!
So strange though. My grandmother was from Japan, she didn’t move here until after she was married and had my father, yet she knew the difference. Oh, she also couldn’t read or write when she got here. Ever try hot tea? And you think you are superior to someone because you know where to use the words their, there and they’re. I know multi-millionaires that don’t know where to use them. Knowing where to use words doesn’t make you better than someone else. But, what separates bumbles from every other bee is that they’re not aggressive. They won’t sting you if they’re feeling threatened. Bees don’t tend to sting gardeners. They know we are caring for the plants they need. If you show no fear you are fine. Just no sudden jerky movements.
