As a mother of a NICU baby who stayed for 3 months and never got to come home, these nurses are more special then they will ever know. I am forever grateful! I immediately tear up when I see the letters NICU – my youngest was cared for by the most amazing Nicu team and I am eternally grateful
Nurse and Superheroes not every superhero wears a cape shirt
NICU nurses are amazing! My aunt has been one for her whole nursing career of 35+ years, she is the reason I am going to nursing school. I am currently pregnant with my first child and he has a good chance of being a preemie and having to stay in the NICU. I am so relieved and not stressed due to that fact that the NICU he would be in is the best in the area I live in and they have the highest survival rate of micro preemies and preemies. Nursing is a thankless job and nurses don’t get recognized enough for all that they do. This is such a great tribute article! Nurse and Superheroes not every superhero wears a cape. As a mom who had a baby in the NICU for 6 weeks as sadly lost our son at 10 weeks, I still remember the days in the NICU as horrifying but amazed by the nurses and some doctors commitment to our son and us. I will. Always hold the nurses at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia on a pedestal. May all those who read this post with babies in a NICU have healthy and happy children. Thank you, ladies, for being nicer than the doctors, and for solid advice. I was so appreciative of my NICU nurses. Thank you!
